I have been a licensed MFT for 30years.  I have been the clinical director for two different residential treatment programs and have supervised over 100 interns.

I provide a calm, supportive atmosphere to help deal with loss, anxiety and weathering transitions.  My approach to therapy has been described as compassionate and empathetic.  Most of my work has been with children, adolescents, and their mothers.  Grief issues, including infertility and the loss of loved ones, are issues that can be addressed in therapy.  I am also available to help counsel elderly clients and their families explore aging issues and family decisions regarding transition into alternative living situations.  

My counseling style and interventions are tailored to fit the individual.  I am a certified Art Therapist and offer sandplay modality as well.  These counseling approaches are suitable for adults as well as children.  For younger children, I facilitate play therapy.

Family therapy is a type of psychological counseling (psychotherapy) that helps family members improve communication and resolve conflicts.

Family therapy is often short term. It may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate. Your specific treatment plan will depend on your family's situation. Family therapy sessions can teach you skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times, even after you're done going to therapy sessions.


Aging is a natural process that may present challenges for some individuals and their families. Although many older adults look forward to moving from middle age into their later years, it may be difficult for others to adjust. The support of a therapist or other mental health professional can help ease the transition.


Children /Adolescents
When children experience emotions or engage in behaviors that interfere with their happiness and ability to thrive, they may benefit from meeting with a mental health professional such as a therapist or counselor. Parents and children often attend therapy sessions together, as therapy can be a safe space in which to address the thoughts, feelings, and emotions experienced by all members.

Fees and Insurance
My fee is $90 to $120 for a 60-minute session, due upon completion, via cash or check. Note that credit cards are not accepted.


I am registered with a number of insurance providers. If you intend to use your health insurance coverage provider you may contact my medical billing service to inquire if I am an authorized provider under your health plan. Please contact Nor-Cal Medical Billing (530)-622-6347 they will be happy to help you. I can also provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance carrier, though this does not guarantee that the services provided are covered by your particular policy. Please check your coverage carefully by asking, at a minimum, the following types of questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?


Cancellation Policy 
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, you will be required to pay the cost of the session.
